WOLVEPOP - Los Sunsets

Forgive me for digging this track, but I think even if you’re not in the mood for some of the best-of-chillwave (especially by a rookie), you’ll be able to roll out to this song.
Wolvepop is composed of George and Wilny, from New York but living in Rome studying there as students. More surprisingly, they’re 16m mhmm, 16 and making music like this.
Influenced by bands like Blackbird Blackbird, Toro y Moi, Unouomedude and Washed Out, they started recording together in December 2010 and they’re working on their first LP. They like visual shows and should be quite interesting live.
The guys record with guitar, synth and a sampler and George is the main music man whilst Wilny handles the visuals – videos, album cover art and so on.
“YY” is their second single and the A side, “Los Sunsets”, is a sparse, beautiful piece of music. Electronic loops sit over a repetitive bass line and drumbeat, hypnotic and trancey.
“Sahara” is soundtrack music. Ideally suited to appear as incidental music on an Indie movie and playing in a cineplex near you.
Keep an eye on these two, I think they may be on to something.
